A 27-year-old Mountain View man accused of running over and killing an elderly bicyclist with a pickup truck has been released from jail.
Siaiku Lucky Aholelei posted $275,000 bond on Thursday, according to the state Department of Public Safety website.
Aholelei is charged with manslaughter and first-degree negligent homicide for the death of 66-year-old Cenon Visaya of Keaau on Sept. 27. The crash occurred on Highway 11 near the entrance to Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii.
He’s been ordered to appear for arraignment and plea before Hilo Circuit Judge Greg Nakamura on Oct. 14 at 8 a.m.
